Drama

Though TWS has a strong emphasis on academics, we recognize that learning takes place in many ways. While we continue to strive to acquire the resources to offer a full drama program, our students actively participate in two major school-wide events. TWS students participate in an annual Christmas Spectacular which features students in drama pieces, dance and songs. The second event is the annual spring festival. Each grade creates their performance in dance, song or drama based on the theme of the spring festival. In 2006, the spring festival focused on Music in the Movies, classes performed renditions of "My Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music, "Under the Sea" from the Little Mermaid, "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" from the Song of the South, "When You Believe" from The Prince of Egypt, "Getting to Know You from The King and I, "The Hard Knock Life" from Annie, "Hakuna Matata" from The Lion King, "Beauty and the Beast" from Beauty and the Beast and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Mary Poppins. In 2007, the theme of the spring festival was Unforgettably Motown.  Students performed hits from the Motown portraying artist like the Jackson 5, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder.  There was also a surprise performance by James Brown.  In 2008, students showed off their talents at the School's 25th Anniversary celebration.
