Life Publications. One of 26 female movers and shakers, Ms. Whitney is being
recognized for her extraordinary contribution to education in Brooklyn.

hometown to celebrate Dr. Seuss's 107th Birthday with Trey Whitfield School
students. - March 3, 2011
Dr. Seuss’s famous words, “The more that you read, the more things you will
know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go,” were vividly brought
to life when NFL Defensive Tackle Shaun Smith spent March 3rd reading
and talking with Trey Whitfield School students about the importance of

ESPN - Brooklyn School Receives Assist - December 13, 2010
Curiosity drew Sam Jones to the Trey Whitfield School. The Hall of Famer and
former Boston Celtic great had heard wondrous tales about what goes on inside
the walls of the Brooklyn school that was co-founded by his friend A. B.
Whitfield and had constantly received invitations to pay a visit.

To David Lerner, a former South Bronx history teacher turned investment adviser,
the public education system in New York just doesn't work.
To that end, the founder of David Lerner Associates, a Syosset, N.Y.-based
investment firm, has thrown his support behind a different approach to education
that works by giving students and parents what he calls true accountability.
Next week Mr. Lerner will give $25,000 to the Trey Whitfield School, a private
school in one of Brooklyn's most underperforming school districts. His most
recent gift brings his support to the school to $300,000 since he became
involved seven years ago. more...

Trey Whitfield School celebrates the life of
Rev. Timothy Wright - April 24, 2009
Timothy Wright, the Brooklyn-born reverend whose gospel music
reached countless followers far beyond New York City, died just
after 1 a.m. Friday at Bronx Veterans Hospital from injuries
sustained in a car accident last year.
He was 61 years old.more...
